Community Guidelines
These guidelines describe how we expect everyone on Social Universe to behave. They apply to posts, comments, messages, communities, events, listings and profiles.
Beta version — last updated 30 October 2026. Social Universe is in public beta. This page describes how the service works today. Some points are still under legal review: each is marked “Under legal review” and says how to reach us until it is completed. The text may change; each new version is published here with its date.
English is the source version of this page. It will be translated only after the English text has been approved.
Respect people
No harassment, bullying, threats or hate against anyone, including for their ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age. Disagree with ideas, not with people.
Keep everyone safe
No violence, encouragement of self-harm, sexual content involving minors, sexual content sent to people who did not ask for it, or sharing someone’s private information without their agreement. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the local emergency services first.
Protect teens
Members under 18 have stronger protections. Only their friends can follow or mention them, and adults they do not know cannot contact them freely. Never try to get around these protections, for example by giving a false age.
Be honest
Use your real identity, do not impersonate people or organisations, do not mislead people about what you sell or about an event, and do not post spam or run fake accounts.
Respect the law and other people’s rights
Do not post anything illegal, and only post photos, texts and other material you have the right to share.
Marketplace and events
List only real items and services that you are allowed to sell, describe them honestly and honour the orders you accept. Payment happens directly between buyer and seller (“Cash and Carry”). When you meet to exchange something, meet in a safe public place.
Communities
Each community can add its own rules. Community moderators may remove posts and members that break them.
Reporting and what happens next
Use “Report” on a post, message, listing, business page or event. Moderators review reports. They may remove content, restrict or suspend an account, and their decisions are recorded. You can also block, mute or restrict people yourself in the members area.
There is no appeal process in the product yet. If you think a decision about you is wrong, tell us through the contact form (/contact/).
Under legal review: how members are told about a decision, how long suspensions last, and whether an appeal process is added. Until the review is complete, ask us through the contact form about any decision.
Changes to these guidelines
